- Avoid unnecessary noise and excessive or avoidable skid marks.
- Always expect agricultural and forestry vehicles.
- Ride at a speed that allows you to stop safely at any time.
- Be prepared for wildlife, pets or livestock on the trails.
- Observe and respect all prohibition signs and information boards.
- Only ride a bicycle that is in full working order and technically sound.
Mountain bike tours and trails

Set off on two wheels to conquer the Pinzgau mountain world and discover the diverse, clearly marked biking routes in the Zell am See-Kaprun region. In addition to leisurely alpine tours, flowy downhill runs also await you here: On the freeride trails on the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel, you have to master narrow trails and bends.
When mountain biking, the protection of nature is always of great importance: That’s why these riding times apply on off-road mountain bike trails:
- 1 May to 31 August from 8 am to 7 pm
- 1 September to 1 November from 8.30 am to 4 pm
Out and about by road bike
A little paradise for road bikers can be enjoyed around Lake Zell: beginner-friendly laps on low-traffic side roads or asphalted roads in the valley are perfect for preparing for the season. Then there are the classics: panoramic circular tours like the Hochkönig Tour or the challenging Grossglockner High Alpine Road. With the gravel bike - a mixture of road bike and mountain bike - new possibilities open up for bike fans in Zell am See-Kaprun: this bike is made for riding on the most diverse terrain. With it, you can explore the entire network of bike trails in the region. On asphalt and grit, on gravel and forest soil, the gravel bike routes lead uphill to the peaks or around Lake Zell.
